A winter storm warning and high wind watch have been issued as another bout of winter takes aim at the region.

A mixture of snow and sleet should begin late in the morning or early afternoon, eventually changing to all snow as strong winds kick up in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Gusts as high as 30 mph are likely in the area Sunday night as 3-6 inches of snow and ice fall through Monday morning. A gale warning has also been issued, lasting through Tuesday.

Snow and wind continue through the day Monday, with gusts as high as 55 mph possible. Snow should taper off late in the afternoon, but heavy winds will continue through Monday night.

Temperatures should reach the mid-30s Sunday afternoon, dropping just below freezing overnight. It should stay around 32 throughout the day Monday, before dropping into the 20s Monday night.

Parking bans have already been issued in Warren and in Bristol; others are likely. School cancellations are also a possibility. Check back with eastbayri.com for more information as it becomes available.
