Gallery: Rumford Stars edge Tiverton in Junior Baseball tourney

EAST PROVIDENCE — The host Rumford Little League All Stars edged visiting Tiverton, 3-2, in a second round game of the District 2 Tournament held Thursday night, July 7, at Glenlyon Field.

Rumford, which had a first round bye, advances to the winners bracket final opposite Darlington, which defeated Bristol 9-4 Thursday. Darlington hosts that contest Monday night, July 11, at 5:45 p.m.

Tiverton, which defeated Pine View 5-3 in the opening round of the event, drops into the losers bracket of the double elimination tournament. Tiverton travels to Barrington Saturday, July 9, for a 5:45 p.m. elimination contest.
