Antone P. DeMenezes, 89, Tiverton

Antone P. DeMenezes, 89, of Tiverton, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Crestwood Convalescent Center in Warren.  He was the husband of the late Germaine C. (Camara) DeMenezes.

Born in Little Compton, son of the late Manuel P. and Margaret (Mendes) DeMenezes, he had resided in the Little Compton/Tiverton area all of his life.

A veteran of the Korean War, he served his country in the United States Air Force. Prior to his retirement in 1995, he worked as a carpenter for the Town of Tiverton.

Survivors include his daughter, Mary M. "Peggy" Dube of Fall River; three grandchildren, Rachael, Nancy and Jennifer; seven great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Elaine Potter; and several nieces and nephews.

He was the father of the late James DeMenezes and brother of the late Phoebe, Mary, Clara, Gladys, Margaret, George, Manuel and Edward.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Crestwood Convalescent Center.

Funeral service, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be Monday, July 24, at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport at 5:30 p.m. Visitation will be Monday from 3 - 5:30 p.m. prior to the service.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
