Cynthia (Nickerson) Hudson, 94, of New Bedford, formerly of Little Compton, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017 at Hathaway Manor. She was the wife of the late Earl Hudson.

Cynthia (Nickerson) Hudson, 94, of New Bedford, formerly of Little Compton, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017 at Hathaway Manor. She was the wife of the late Earl Hudson.

Mrs. Hudson was born in Fall River, daughter of the late William T. and Florence (Taber) Nickerson, and had been a lifelong resident of Little Compton. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her two sons: Donald Hudson and his wife Leslie, and David Hudson, both of Tiverton; her two daughters: Kathleen Besse and her husband Ron of Westport, and Christine Hudson of Little Compton; a sister: Hope Genovesi of IN; 5 grandchildren: Brian, Ronnie, Debbie, Rachel & Michael; 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Earl Nickerson and grandmother of the late Stephen Hudson, Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Tiverton. To sign the online guestbook, please visit www.potterfuneralservice.com.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
