Eveline T. Ferreira, 73, Fall River

Eveline T. Ferreira, 73, of Fall River, wife of Raymond Ferreira, passed away on Sunday at St.Anne’s Hospital. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Manuel S. and Imelda (Lizotte) Teixeira.

Eveline owned and operated a house-cleaning business for many years.

Besides her husband, she leaves her children, Brenda Peter (husband-Tom) of Preston, Conn., and Raymond J. Ferreira (wife-Lisa) of Hope, R.I.; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary, Maggie, Daniel, Emily, Katie Peter and Patrick Pepper; three brothers, Roger Teixeira (wife-Judy), Henry Teixeira (wife-Margie), and Joseph Teixeira (wife-Martha); and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Dolores Kocor and George Teixeira.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday from the Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford St., Fall River, with her Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church at 11 a.m. Calling hours prior to Mass, 9-10:30 a.m. Private burial at a later date. A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
