Frances Coelho, 77, of Tiverton

Frances (Goulart) Coelho, 77, of Tiverton passed away on June 2, 2018, at Rhode Island Hospital.  She was the wife of Antonio Costa Coelho Jr.

Born in Bristol, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary deConceicao (Cabral) Goulart. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Anthony Coelho and his fiancée Maria Pimental, Madeline Brumley and her husband Dennis, Leanora Graves and her husband William, Michael Coelho, Pauline Morin and her husband Steve, Mark Coelho and his wife Tammy, and Frances Nadeau and her husband Mark; grandchildren, Anthony Coelho, Holly Coelho, Eric Brumley, Justin Graves, Joel Graves, Chanel Graves, Mitchell Morin, Dylan Morin, Shaina Morin, Amanda Coelho, Mark David Coelho, Lucas Munafo, Jacob Munafo and Caleb Munafo; and great-grandchildren, Aydan Coelho, Autumn Brumley, Hannah Brumley, Cecelia Bonas-Graves, Hazel Graves, Wyatt Graves, Ryder Morin and Armand Jusseaume.

She was the sister of Edith August, Robert Goulart and the late Philomena Capirichio, Mae Morris, Joseph Goulart, Lawrence Goulart and Raymond Goulart.  She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Evelyn Goulart, Mary Goulart, Dolores Goulart, Madeline Toste, Concetta Coelho and Mary Angel Coelho. 

Mrs. Coelho attended school in Bristol and was employed as an Art Studies Office Assistant before retiring.

Her funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9, at 10 a.m. from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood St. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground.

Calling hours are Friday 4 to 8 p.m.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
