Ruth C. (Pereira) Berube, 88, of Tiverton, formerly of Little Compton, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Roger E. Berube. Ruth was born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Alfred C. and Mary Pereira.

She worked for the late Attorney Raymond LaFazia and then for Trans Com Electric in Portsmouth, retiring in 1996. Mrs. Berube was a former communicant of Saint Catherine of Sienna Church in Little Compton and presently of Saint Christopher’s Church in Tiverton.

Before her illness, she enjoyed time spent with friends, especially at The Commons Lunch in Little Compton. Mrs. Berube was a kind and caring person who was loved by all who knew her. Her family was the most important part of her life. Even though she didn’t have children of her own, she cherished and adored her nieces, nephews and their families. She was truly a mother to all.

Survivors are three sisters, Myrtle Letendre and her husband George of Tiverton, Barbara Medeiros of Tiverton and Diane Peckham and her husband Douglas of Tiverton; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and two great great nieces. She was the sister of the late Hazel Mullins and Alfred Pereira Jr., and sister-in-law of the late Thomas Mullins and Raymond Medeiros.

The family would like to thank Ruth's dedicated care givers: Dee, Linda, Tyondra, Pat, Mary, Margaret, Kim, Lexie, Dawn, Courtney and Ronica for the loving care that they provided to her during her illness.

Her family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, August 12, 2017, from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in Saint Christopher’s Church, 1554 Main Road, Tiverton. Burial to follow in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Little Compton.

To light a memorial candle, sign the guest book or to obtain directions to the church or cemetery go to"www.hathawayfunerals.com or call 508 673-0781. Memorial donations in her memory can be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
