Steven F. Borges, 57, Tiverton

Steven F. Borges, 57, of Tiverton, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at his home. He was born in Fall River, the son of the late Francis O. Tessier and Gertrude E. (Moran) Borges.

Steven worked alongside his father in the auto body industry. He was a talented artist and received numerous awards for his drawings. Steve loved classic rock and enjoyed being with his family, especially his friends in the Phoenix program at Newport Mental Health in Middletown.

Survivors are a sister, Deborah A. Wordell and her husband Teddy of Little Compton; two brothers, Joseph S. Borges of Fairhaven, and Robert J. DeSoto Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Tiverton; the Tessier half-siblings, Gary, Paula, Brian, Susan and Janice; along with numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Steven’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, March 9, from 10 a.m. to noon with a prayer service following at noon in the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson Street, Fall River. Burial will be private at the request of the family. Memorial donations in his memory can be made to Newport Mental Health 127 Johnny Cake Hill Road, Middletown, RI 02842.
