EAST PROVIDENCE—Tiverton lost to Prout 1-0 in the Division II Regional Pod II losers bracket final at Pierce Field on Wednesday night. Prout centerfielder Jack Westall made a perfect throw to catcher Ben Bilotti, who put a tag on Tiverton runner Brett Silvia at home plate to keep the game scoreless in the seventh inning. Silvia running from second base, was hit by a pitch, moved to second on a hit Stephen Gacioch and attempted to score on a single by Mason Farias. Prout later scored in the top of the eighth on a hit by Cody Hattoy off Tiverton reliever Zach Pieroni.

Both starting pitchers were outstanding in regulation. Tiverton’s Mason Farias recorded 9 strikeouts and Prout’s Kyle McCann had 8. Farias and reliever Pieroni limited Prout to just 4 hits.

Tiverton ended the season with a 15-7 record overall and a 13-5 record in the division.
