Tiverton Police: Thefts from vehicles, impersonation charged

Michael D. Chenard, 47, of Fall River was charged with larceny under $500 from a motor vehicle, two counts of tampering with vehicles, impersonation of a police officer, and obstructing a police officer. The arrest happened at 10:43 a.m. Police accused him of stealing change from two vehicles in the Riverside Drive area and, when confronted by an officer, identifying himself as a probation officer and producing a gold probation officer badge — he is not a probation officer.

Jason L. Brayton, 43, of 765 Crandall Road, Tiverton, was charged at 4 p.m. with larceny over $500 — a backhoe belonging to Cardi Corporation from the Twin River construction site. See separate story.

Saturday, Dec. 30

David Arruda, 25, of 121 Cory’s Lane, Tiverton, was charged with two counts of domestic disorderly conduct and with domestic simple assault, following an incident at 12:03 p.m. at his home address.

Monday, Jan. 1

At 218 a.m. on Bulgarmarsh Road, Joseph Ginolfi, 31, of Warwick was charged with driving under the influence, .15 percent or greater.

Ryan W. Bartell, 21, of 8 Anthony Ave., Tiverton, was charged with driving under the influence at 3:36 a.m. just over the bridge on northbound Route 24.
