TIVERTON — Tiverton Power has donated $13,000 to place more instructional technology in the hands of Tiverton High School students.

The company’s latest donation to town schools helped pay for mobile classroom sets of Chromebooks, that directly help well over 100 students.

Tiverton Power has been working to help town schools in partnership with the Tiverton Education Foundation since 2009.

Previous donations from Tiverton Power have supported hardware for Tiverton High School’s engineering, science, and computer science courses. The high school and Tiverton Power hope to partner in the fall to bring real-world, hands-on instruction to students through interactive classroom visits from the engineers and scientists who work at the local facility.

Tiverton Power is a combined-cycle natural gas-fired power plant owned and operated by Emera Energy of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
