TIVERTON — When the countdown ended promptly at noon New Year's Day Sunday, a group of Tivertonites, making like a waddle of penguins, broke out of the crowd of onlookers on the town's Grinnell's Beach, and tore into the water for the town's sixth annual Penguin Plunge.
