Westport Vineyard unveils Summer Music Series lineup

Westport Rivers Vineyard and Winery has announced its Sunset Music Series lineup for 2017. 

“We have an amazing and diverse line-up of talent this season,” a vineyard spokesman said.

For the third year in a row, all tickets must be purchased in advance in the vineyard’s company store or by visiting www.westportrivers.com.

Admission is $10 per carload in advance or $15 if purchased the week of the event. Tickets will be available in the store until 3 p.m. the day of each show and until 6:30 p.m. on the website. No tickets will be available at the gate. “There is a small convenience fee for tickets purchased online.” No tickets will be sold by phone.

The series begins on Friday, June 16. and will run through Saturday, September 9.  From 6 pm to 8 p.m., the winery will feature live entertainment as the sun sets over the

Saturday performances in September will remain at 5 to 7 p.m. as the sun sets a bit earlier. 

It’s a picnic style event — visitors may bring their own food or enjoy a variety of offerings from local food trucks.

Don’t forget a blanket, chairs, bug spray, and soft drinks/water. The event is weather permitting and no alcohol may be brought to the event. Wine and beer by the glass will be available for purchase.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986.
