Jean Soares, 68, Warren

Posted

Jean (Charette), Soares, 68, passed away peacefully at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016.

Born and raised in Warren, Jean was the daughter of the late Leo and Yvonne Charette. She is survived by her children, Pam Grove and her husband Geoff, and Paul Soares, Jr. and his wife Martha, all of Barrington; and five cherished grandchildren, Katie and Madeleine Grove and Travis, Julia and Alex Soares. She was the sister of Stanley Sustakowsky and his wife Barbara of Florida, Ronald Charette and his wife Nancy of California and the late Carleton Charette and his wife Ann of North Carolina. She also leaves behind her lifelong and very dear friend Vivien Gomes and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jean was a kind-hearted, selfless woman who worked hard and lived a very simple life dedicated to her family. Always thinking of others, she asked very little in return. She never missed an opportunity to tell her family how proud she was of them and how much she loved them. No mother/grandmother has ever loved her children/grandchildren more than she did. For such a tiny person, she has left a very large void in our lives.

Jean loved the town of Warren and especially the Warren Town Beach. She spent many happy hours there with her parents, children and grandchildren. Donations in her memory can be made to Warren Recreation Department, 790 Main St., Warren, RI 02885 to erect a memorial at the beach that she so loved.

At Jean’s request, funeral services will be private.
