The Kickemuit Middle School (KMS) cross country team visited East Providence on Tuesday, Sept. 27 to compete against Riverside Middle School and Martin Middle School.
The Huskies swept the meet with the girls team defeating Riverside 15-50 and Martin 25-32. The boys team beat Riverside with the same score, 15-50 and Martin 25-31. KMS runner Hope Tyska was the overall winner of the girls race while teammate Tristan Tamulaites was the boys overall winner.
Long-time KMS cross country coach Brian Beausoleil is happy with the development of the team. “This is a great group of kids and the eight graders are a fantastic group for the sixth to come up with,” Beausoleil said. “I’m very please with all they have done and really can't ask for better. I hope the fun continues for them because that's really what it's all about.”
The KMS cross country team returns to action Tuesday, Oct. 4 at Fort Adams State Park.
