Matthew P. Ferrara, 80, of Warren, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016 in Moncton, Canada.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Matthew and Diolinda (Raposa) Ferrara, he was the beloved husband of Judy (Davis) Ferrara. He was a self-employed master plumber.

Mr. Ferrara was an active member of the Baptist Church in Warren. He was an avid model airplane enthusiast and had belonged to the Generations Drum Corps.

Besides his wife, he leaves his children, Matthew P. Ferrara (Therese) of Mill River, MA and Linda Hawkins-Hall (John) of Tiverton; and his siblings, Robert Ferrara, Frank Ferrara, Julia Izbicki and Ellen Fennelly, all of Bristol, and Salvatore Ferrara of East Providence. He was the loving grandfather of Brook Hawkins, Matthew, Blake and Andrea Ferrara. He was the father of the late Susan Lynn Ferrara.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where family will receive friends from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10. Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in South Burial Ground. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. in the Baptist Church in Warren, 407 Main St., Warren, RI 02885. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the church.
