Bristol students “adopt” hurricane-ravaged Texas school

Posted

Students at the Guiteras School in Bristol went shopping for supplies last two weeks, but not for themselves: They adopted a middle school in Texas that lacks the barest essentials after Hurricane Harvey’s landfall last month. Students across all five grades were asked to bring in pens, pencils, notebooks, glue, tape, disinfecting wipes, pocket folders, erasers and more, and all were collected by Karen McCanna’s fourth grade class. The fourth graders boxed up the supplies Monday and they were sent out later that day to the Forest Brook Middle School in Houston, Tx. The UPS Store in Bristol donated packing materials and shipping costs.
