David L. Goglia Jr. "Goldi," 66, of Bristol, passed away on the morning of March 5, 2018. He was the son of the late David L. Goglia Sr. and Ruth Speakman. He was the beloved husband of Susan C. Medeiros.

David was a member of the Elk’s Lodge of Bristol, the Rod and Gun Club of Warren, and was a founding member the Over the Hill Motorcycle Club. He worked for the State of Rhode Island as a mason and maintenance worker for 29 years. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his loving family.

He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Medeiros. Besides his parents, David was predeceased by his brother, Michael H. Goglia. His golden heart was the size of the world, and he is beloved and mourned by all who were honored to have known him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 15 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
