Debates for Bristol and Warren House Primary races will be Sept. 4

Democratic candidates for Rhode Island Representative Districts 68 and 69 have been invited to debate on Tuesday, Sept. 4, with a Meet & Greet at 6:30 p.m. and forums at 7 p.m. in the Bristol Statehouse, 250 High St.

These forums are sponsored by League of Women Voters of R.I., East Bay Newspapers, Full Channel and the East Bay Chamber of Commerce. The moderator will from the East Bay Newspapers.

These candidates will be on the ballot on Primary Election Day, Sept. 12. Those in the audience will be invited to write questions on small index cards to be considered for use during the debate. Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
