District 68 candidates will meet in debate Monday night

Posted

Bristol and Warren residents will have one more chance to meet the four candidates for the House of Representatives District 68 seat this coming Monday, when the Bristol Phoenix hosts a public forum at the Bristol County State House in Bristol.

The program runs from 6 to 8 p.m. Competing for the seat are Warren Democrat June Speakman, Libertarian William Hunt of Warren and Independents Kenneth Marshall of Bristol and James McCanna Jr. of Warren. Ms. Speakman will represent the Democratic party after defeating Bristol resident Richard Ruggiero in the Democratic primary election on Feb. 5.
The public is welcome to submit questions in writing for candidates. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the forum will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The Special Election will be held Tuesday, March 5, to fill the seat vacated by Representative-elect Laufton Ascencao.

East Bay Newspapers will be live-streaming the forum from its Facebook page on Monday night.
