A Warren girl was injured at 11:47 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14 when she was struck by a car while crossing Child Street, near the Bristol County Water Authority plant.
The girl, 14, was crossing from the south to north side of Child Street when she was struck by a 2010 Buick driven west by Rebecca Pierotti, 38, of Swansea. Ms. Pierotti told police she did not see the girl until it was too late, and though she tried to avoid the girl was not able to stop in time. Police said she ran over the girl’s toes.
Police said the girl suffered minor injuries and was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Ms. Pierotti was cited for failure to yield right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
