Peter Joseph Gallinelli Jr., 66, of Clearwater, Fla. and formerly of Warren, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018 at the Morton Plante Hospital in Clearwater. He was the former husband of Elizabeth (Urban) Gallinelli of Warren.

Peter was born in Providence, a son of the late Peter Gallinelli Sr. and Rita (Pagano) Gallinelli. He was a supervisor in the Maintenance Department of Dillard’s Department Store in Clearwater.

Mr. Gallinelli was a US Army veteran, serving as Sergeant before retiring after more than 24 years of service.

Peter had lived in Clearwater since 2004, coming from Warren, and he was a former parishioner of St. Jean the Baptiste Church. He was a volunteer and member of the AMVETS, and the EAGLES. Peter enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and attending fund-raising rides.

He was an Eagle Scout and former Troop Leader. He enjoyed playing golf, guitar, and was a scuba diver.

Mr. Gallinelli was a long-time volunteer member of the Warren Fire Department, Rough and Ready Engine 5.

Besides his former wife, he is survived by his son, Peter J. Gallinelli III and his wife Elizabeth of Schererville, Indiana; his daughter, Tina Borges and her husband David of Riverside, RI; and his brother, Thomas Gallinelli of Connecticut. He was the grandfather of Emma Borges, Zoe Gallinelli, Zachary Gallinelli and Zander Gallinelli. Peter was the brother of the late Robert Gallinelli.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, from Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren. They will be followed by a graveside service at 10 am in St. Jean the Baptiste Cemetery, Vernon Street, Warren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Thursday, Sept. 20 from 5 to 8 pm.
