Priscilla B. (Blount) Heywood Ragland, 89, of Warren, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. She was the wife of the late Kenneth B. Heywood, and also the late Lt. Col. Richard M. Ragland, USAF (Ret.)
Priscilla was born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Byron B. and Leda T. ( Short) Blount.
She was a homemaker. Mrs. Ragland lived in Warren for most of her life, also living for 17 years in Cape Coral, Fla. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Warren, and was also a member of the Historical and Preservation Societies of Warren.
She is survived by her children, Glenn Heywood and his wife Maryann of Seekonk and Gail H. Ferrazzano and her husband Ben of Warren. She was the grandmother of five, the great-grandmother of eight and the great-great-grandmother of three.
Arrangements are with Family's Choice Cremation. Her visitation will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, RI. The funeral will immediately follow at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the United Methodist Church, 25 Church St., Warren, RI 02885.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
