Rain or shine, the annual Earth Day cleanup scheduled for Saturday in Warren will go on as planned. Luckily, forecasters predict that while we will have rain Saturday, it won't start until the afternoon.

Everyone is invited to join members of the  Conservation Commission at the Pete Sepe Pavilion at Recreation Park on Asylum Road starting at 9 a.m. to get their assignments and for refreshments and a free T-shirt. Volunteers are also invited to enjoy free hot dogs and hamburgers when they return. This year’s celebration  will include prizes for the most unusual plastic items found. Representatives from Greening the Sphere will also be on hand to share what they are doing to make a positive impact on the environment.
