Ronald Curria, 71, of Warren, died Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Orchard View Manor in East Providence. He was the husband of the late Jane (DeBlois) Curria.

Ronald was born in Providence, a son of the late John and Mary (Borges) Curria.

He was a welder at Electric Boat for a few years before retiring in 1986.

Mr. Curria was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a Private during the Vietnam War.

He was a Warren resident all of his life, and a member of the American Legion Post 11 in Warren, and also a member of the D.A.V.

He enjoyed growing sunflowers.

Ronald was the father of David Curria of Bristol, Stephen Curria of Providence and Kevin Curria of Warren. He was the brother of Cathleen Curria of Warren.

Mr. Curria was the grandfather of five; he was also survived by any nieces and nephews.

Ronald was the brother of the late Richard Curria and the late Edward Curria.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 8 am from Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Ave., Warren. Burial with Military Honors will be in the South Burial Ground, Warren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Wednesday morning from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986.
