State recommends Warren Town Beach closure

Elevated bacteria counts found

Posted

The Rhode Island Department of Health recommended Sunday that the Warren Town Beach be closed to swimming due to high bacteria counts.
During recent testing elevated levels of bacteria were detected; the beach closure was recommended until further notice. Also recommended for closure was King Park Beach in Newport.
When a beach closure is recommended, water quality analysis is conducted by RIDOH's laboratory or a state-certified laboratory. The status of a beach may change daily. The most up-to-date beach information is available through a recorded message on the Department of Health’s beaches telephone line, 222-2751.
For more information, see the DOH's beach information page.
