Two brothers who hope to establish Warren’s first commercial medical marijuana growing operation will have to wait until late June to find out if the town will allow it.
Mike and Jeff Motta will need a special use permit to open their operation in an industrial building on Franklin Street, but didn’t apply in time to be included on this week’s Warren Zoning Board of Review agenda. Instead, they will appear before the zoning board at its Wednesday, June 20 meeting.
The Warren Town Council last month approved the limited commercial cultivation of medical marijuana in Warren, allowing it in some areas (but not outdoors, in residential areas or the farm conservation zone) by special use permit.
