Warren police logs: Car stop yields quarter pound of marijuana

Monday, April 15

A caller complained about a man rummaging through recycling bins at Market Street and Lambert Lane.

Christopher J. Ramirez, 20, of Johnston, was charged with possession of more than one ounce of marijuana after police pulled him over at Child Street and Highview Avenue at 4:28 p.m. Police said he had just over a quarter pound of marijuana in the car.

A caller complained ab out kids driving mopeds on Asselin Street. Police determined that they were actually electric scooters and were being operated on private property.

A Child Street man reported the theft of prescription pills from his parked car.

Tuesday, April 16

A Market Street man reported receiving a scam call.

Police dispersed a skateboarder from Main Street after a caller said he was causing property damage.

A Child Street woman reported that a man had assaulted her son.

Wednesday, April 17

An employee at a Main Street business complained about a woman yelling at passers-by.

An Asselin Street woman asked that police disperse a group of juveniles who were harassing her and her son.

Cattle took a stroll on Metacom Avenue before being corralled.

A Lee Drive woman complained that her daughter was receiving harassing phone calls.

A Howland Street said she believed her ex, against whom she has a no contact order, was in a car outside her house.

William Burns, 36, of East Providence, was charged with refusal to submit to a chemical test, second violation within five years, after police pulled him over at Main and Franklin streets at 8:20 p.m.

A resident complained that someone had made a fire pit a little ways off the East Bay Bike Path.

Thursday, April 18

A Main Street resident reported being harassed by a drunken neighbor.

A Long Wharf Drive woman called to report that someone stole her dog. She called back 18 minutes later to report that nobody stole her dog, and it was in the house.

Friday, April 19

A Child Street woman complained that her ex-boyfriend was trying to get into her home. Police spoke to the man; he was attempting to drop off items.

Several people spent about 12 minutes trapped in a Main Street elevator before they were released around 12:16 p.m.

A Child Street woman told police her daughter was being harassed via text.

A Wood Street man complained that someone drove onto his property and damaged a fence.

Police looked for but could not locate a possible drunk driver reported on Franklin Street.

A man called from Metacom Avenue to report that his girlfriend, who was kicking him out of the apartment, may be throwing his belongings out into the rain.

Saturday, April 20

John F. Lucas, 40, of Providence, was charged with driving without or on an expired license, third or subsequent offense.

A caller reported a couple fighting on Locust Terrace.

A Long Wharf Drive woman complained that her boyfriend locked her out.

James B. Baker, 58, no address given, was arrested on a Sixth Division District Court warrant.

Police were called to Main Street for a man and woman yelling at each other.

A caller from Reservoir Avenue asked that police check on the well-being of his heavily intoxicated son.

Police were asked to disperse a drunken woman from a Mason Street residence, but she left before they arrived.

Sunday, April 21

Megan R. Kelley, 26, of Bristol, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, first offense, after police pulled her over at 12:43 a.m. at Arlington Avenue and Rosa Boulevard.

Nicholas A. Bagley, 38, of 5 Long Wharf Drive, third floor, was charged with disorderly conduct after a caller reported that a neighbor had kicked in his front and back door.

A Main Street man said he was assaulted two days earlier while waiting for the bus, but could not ID his assailant.

Nicholas A. Stanzione, 22, of 15 Martin St., first floor, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, third or subsequent offense.

A Child Street woman reported that a man violated a no contact order and made a threatening gesture with his hands.
