Warren police logs: Three charged with DUI

Monday, Sept. 24

A Greene Street woman called police after finding a dying possum at the end of her driveway.

A Market Street woman contacted police after finding a knife on the side of the road.

Tuesday, Sept. 25

A Vernon Street resident reported a damaged mailbox.

A caller reported a man and woman arguing on Union Street just after 9 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 26

A resident turned in a wallet found in Warren.

James L. Principe, 50, no address listed, was arrested on a warrant for violating a no contact order.

A caller from Sisson Street told police that utility wires on a pole nearby were sparking. Police checked it and out and discovered that the caller was mistaken; it was actually a plastic bag caught in the wires.

Police got a call about an intoxicated man disturbing the peace on Water Street. The call came in just after 8 p.m.

A loud music complaint came in from Water and Johnson streets just before 10:30 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 27

A Child Street woman reported being taunted and followed by a man.

Richard R. Froais, 55, of 1090 Main St., was arrested on a Rhode Island Superior Court warrant.

A caller from Sowamsett Avenue told police that someone appeared to be attempting to break into a neighbor’s car.

Friday, Sept. 28

A caller told police someone stole a wallet from her car while it was parked at Wood and Federal streets.

A caller reported an erratic driver on Main Street just after 9:30 a.m.

A man called police at 10:40 a.m. to report being assaulted on Child Street by a drunken man.

A caller from Kinnicutt Avenue complained about kids riding around on dirt bikes.

Kelley A. Allsworth, 48, of Bristol, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled her over at Market and John streets at 5:41 p.m.

A Main Street man who reported being assaulted an hour earlier was transported to Rhode Island Hospital after asking to be checked out medically.

Kenneth J. Raposo, 29, of 32 Wood St., Apt. 1, was charged with disorderly conduct after police received multiple calls about a disturbance on Wood Street just after 8 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 29

Joshua L. Ribeiro, 27, of Bristol, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense, refusal to submit to a chemical test, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, after police pulled him over on Metacom Avenue, near Laurel Lane, at 2:04 a.m.

A loud music complaint came in from Market Street at 10:30 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 30

A Main Street man reported being assaulted a few days prior. 

An Almeida Drive woman told police that someone rummaged through her car and stole documents.

Police got a call about a disobedient child on Laurel Lane.

Police got a call from Wood Street, alleging that two juveniles were trying to steal bikes from her neighbor’s property. Police spoke to the mother of one of the juveniles, who said the bikes belong to him. 

A Market Street man reported the theft of his scooter, but it was recovered by the owner soon after.

Monday, Oct. 1

Katie L. Sutherland, 34, of Swansea, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test (second violation within five years), after police pulled her over on Vernon Street and Avenue A at 1:16 a.m.

A caller reported at 2:40 a.m. that juveniles walking down Croade Street were loud.
