Warren police: Man charged with hitting mother

Monday, Sept. 25

Police got a complaint that two women were openly drinking alcohol at a bus stop at Main and Water streets. Police checked it out: Soda.

Police were called to the Hugh Cole School for a disobedient student.

A Fatima Drive resident reported being harassed by a neighbor.

A Union Street man told police that someone stole his bicycle.

A loud music complaint came in from Long Lane.

Tuesday, Sept. 26

Joshua Sousa, 32, of Bristol, was charged with domestic disorderly conduct and domestic simple assault/battery, third offense, after a caller from Railroad Avenue told police that Mr. Sousa struck his mother.

Police received several complaints of a dog or dogs unleaded at the Warren Town Beach.

Donald A. Shaw, 70, of 58 Shore Drive, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, third or greater offense.

A Stuart Street woman called police and took her dog to the Warren Animal Hospital after it was bitten by a neighbor’s dog.

Wednesday, Sept. 27

A Main Street resident reported giving $40 to a man to buy alcohol; the man never returned, the complainant told police.

A resident complained that landscapers dumped grass clippings in the road near Long Lane.

Jeremy C. Martinson, 40, of 216 Vernon St., was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, third or greater offense.

Thursday, Sept. 28

A man flying a drone called police after he lost communication with his device. He said the drone might be on the roof of Cutler Mills.

Police spoke to a boy at Hugh Cole School who apparently talked about bringing a knife to school. Police found no knife, though they spoke to the boy’s parents.

A Davis Street man called to complain about his neighbors’ habit of slamming doors.

Jodie L. Sillanpaa, 37, of 386 Metacom Ave., Apt. 1, was picked up on a warrant for domestic simple assault/battery and domestic disorderly conduct.

Friday, Sept. 29

A walk-in gave police a wallet he had found on Child Street.

Justin Valenzuela, 29, of Bristol, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, first offense.

A Water Street man reported the theft of his cell phone.

Saturday, Sept. 30

Police spoke to a hitchhiker thumbing his way down Metacom Avenue.

Frank K. Campo Jr., 28, of Bristol, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled him over on Main Street just after 4 a.m.

A Beach Street woman called police after locking herself out of her home.

An Elm Street woman reported being harassed by neighbors.

A Main Street man reported the theft of his bicycle.

Sunday, Oct. 1

A Mason Street man complained that his neighbors were having a loud party.

A caller reported to police that the showers at the Warren Town Beach were running. Police checked it out and noticed that while they were running, they were in use by kids.

A bicyclist complained of a person who threw trash onto the East Bay Bike Path.

Monday, Oct. 2

The fire chief checked out a call on Davis Street; a woman had a cooking mishap.
