Warren police: Man flips boat, makes it to shore OK

Monday, April 29
A caller from Main Street complained that two men were smoking marijuana in a a hallway.
Police got a call about an intoxicated man in the cemetery on Main Street. Police checked it out and reported the man had "made it out of the cemetery" but was now behind the church.
A man refused medical treatment after tipping his small aluminum boat on the Kickemuit River just after 5 p.m. Police received multiple calls about the man, who was reportedly hanging on to the side of the upturned boat. The town's Harbor 1 rescue boat and police were dispatched; police arrived first and noted that the man made it safely to shore. He refused medical treatment and police took him to his home on Overhill Road.
A caller asked that police disperse two men sitting in a parked car in a Main Street parking lot. They were gone when police arrived.
A Schoolhouse Road man reported receiving inappropriate text messages.
Tuesday, April 30
Jeffrey A. Terranova, 58, of Providence, was arrested on a Sixth Division District Court bench warrant after police pulled him over on Water Street at 1:14 a.m.
A caller complained about speeders on Seymour Street who reach speeds in exvcess of 50 to 60 miles per hour. She told police she feared for the safety of school children waiting for the bus in the morning.
A caller reported the illegal dumping of construction material and debris behind the Cutler Mill complex.
A caller reported kids fighting on Metacom Avenue. Police said those involved, aged 16 to 20, were rough housing and police intervention wasn't required.
A Child Street reported the theft of a package that had come in the mail from Amazon.
A Main Street woman reported being assaulted.
A woman at Metacom and Vernon flagged down an officer just before 6 pm. to report that her daughter hadn't returned from school that afternoon. Police put out a BOLO for the girl; the woman called police at 8:13 p.m. to report locating her daughter safe and sound.
A Child Street woman reported that a neighbor was yelling obscenities at her; it appeared to be an ongoing issue over where neighbors place their trash.
Wednesday, May 1
A caller reported that kids were smoking marijuana in a Main Street parking lot.
Hector Luis Osorio, 36, of Pawtucket, was arrested on a Rhode Island Superior Court warrant after police stopped him at Main and Franklin streets at 4:17 p.m.
A caller from Market Street reported being harassed via text message.
Thursday, May 2
Vilaphon S. Hong, 25, of Cranston, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled him over at Main Street and Sowamsett Avenue at 12:50 a.m.
A caller complained about a possible narcotics user loitering on Water Street and wearing a black hood and black shoes. It was the second time the caller had spotted the person and called police; officers checked it out and learned the person was just an employee of Blount Fine Foods, and was on break.
A caller complained about skateboarders on Main Street.
A juvenile, 12, was charged with sexting or disseminating indecent material.
Jason M. Martin, 37, of East Providence, was charged with obstruction of an officer and driving without or on an expired license, first offense, after police pulled him over just before 6 p.m. at the intersection of Child and Everett streets.
Friday, May 3
A Cutler Street woman came in to police headquarters to report being harassed.
Kickemuit Middle School officials reported to police that an eighth grader walked out of school just after noon. Police located the child at home in Bristol.
A Wood Street woman reported seeing a possible drug deal go down.
A Water Street woman called police to report that a man stole her kitten. Police tried to contact the man in question but were unable. Meanwhile, the woman called back about an hour later to report finding the kitten, which apparently had been hiding somewhere inside the house.
A caller from Kenny Drive reported that his daughter had overdosed on drugs but was conscious. Rescue crews transported her to the hospital; they did not employ Narcan, an anti-opioid.
Saturday, May 4
Joseph Rioux, 43, of 89 Market St., Apt. 1, was charged with disorderly conduct after getting a call from a woman at a Market Street establishment just after midnight. She told police the man entered the establishment, was asked to leave, and went outside and started yelling.
A woman reported losing her parking lot in a Metacom Avenue establishment.
A Child Street woman asked that police disperse two juveniles who were loitering in her driveway.
A woman complained that kids were being too loud on Wood Street.
Sunday, May 5
Michael P. Paulsen, 23, of Middletown, NJ, was charged with driving under the influence of liquor or drugs, first offense, BAC .15 or greater, after police pulled him over at the corner of Market Street and Schoolhouse Road at 2:21 a.m.
Matthew J. Bowler, 41, of Riverside, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, third or subsequent offense, after an accident at Child Street and Arlington Avenue at 5:38 p.m.
Monday, May 6
Justin D. Dubois, 38, of 10 Fatima Drive, was charged with domestic simple assault/battery, domestic disorderly conduct and domestic refusal to relinquish a telephone, after a woman called from Asylum Road at 12:49 a.m. to report that her friends were having an argument.
