Warren police: Possible bone may actually have been ice

Monday, Jan. 14
A caller from Main Street reported the theft of a coffee travel mug.
Police were called to Locust Terrace for an aggressive goose.
A Metacom Avenue resident reported the violation of a no contact order.
Dawn August, 44, of 14 Maple Road, was charged with domestic simple aassault/battery and domestic disorderly conduct after police were called to her home for a domestic situation.
Tuesday, Jan. 15
A caller reported seeing a suspicious woman questioning children at a bus stop at Water and Baker streets. Police identified the woman but there were no reports of problems.
A Metacom Avenue resident reported a stolen wallet.
An Asselin Street woman told police that a neighbor was harassing her children.
Police gained access to a car parked on Child Street after the owner reported that her child was locked inside.
Police searched for but could not find a man deemed suspicious who was going door to door on Main Street.
A deer was struck and killed by a car on Birchswamp Road.
Wednesday, Jan. 16
A Vernon Street man found a phone in his trash and turned it over to police.
The animal control officer returned several loose chickens to the Hall Avenue coop from whence they came. Later that morning, the officer provided the same service to a cow that had wandered away on Barton Avenue.
Paula Jean Medeiros, 57, of Fall River, was charged with driving under the influence of liquor or drugs, first offense, BAC .1 to .15, after police pulled her over on Vernon Street at 6:45 p.m.
Thursday, Jan. 17
A Federal Street woman complained about a barking dog.
A Martin Street man came to police headquarters to ask officers’ advice on how to handle harassment from his roommate.
Jeffrey Pires, 40, of 24 Federal St., Apt. 1, was charged wit giving a false statement to an officer after an 8:39 a.m. traffic stop on Metacom Avenue.
A woman from Market Street complained about being harassed by a man on Wood Street.
Police got a call about an injured duck on Locust Terrace. Police determined that it was (A) a goose, not a duck and (B) that it was OK.
A caller complained about an erratic driver on Child Street who threw a beverage out of the window.
A caller reported a possible drunk driver on Market Street just after 5 p.m. Police searched for but could not locate the vehicle.
A caller from Paul Court reported a person going through recycling bins.
Friday, Jan. 18
The animal control officer was advised of loose chickens on Hall Avenue.
A caller reported being threatened via Facebook.
A caller reported finding a bone on Child Street, near Railroad Avenue. Police could not find the bone but noted that there was a piece of ice in the area that could have been mistaken for a bone.
A Metacom Avenue resident reported the violation of a protective order.
A caller complained about a man panhandling on Main Street.
Matthew D. Salzano, 49, of Bristol, was picked up by Bristol police on a Warren warrant for violating a no contact order.
Saturday, Jan. 19
Police responded to a Child Street line after an emergency dispatch operator overheard a possible domestic dispute on an open 911 line. Officers said there was no issue.
A Child Street man complained to police that his girlfriend was trying to start an argument with him.
A Brownell Street man reported the sounding of a neighbor’s house alarm at 6:04 p.m.
A caller on Croade Street complained about loud music coming from a car.
Laura B. Wrath, 30, of Riverside, was ahargedwith driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled her over on Metacom Avenue at 11:56 p.m.
Sunday, Jan. 20
Police responded to two calls for loud music early Sunday: First on Metacom Avenue at 12:21 a.m., then on Stuart Street at 12:29 a.m.
Sean V. Fisher, 23, of Bristol, was charged with possession of drugs and driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, third or subsequent offense, after police pulled him over on Child Street at 12:55 a.m.
A caller from Child Street complained that someone scattered nails across his driveway.
Police were called to Warren Avenue for a landlord/tenant dispute.
A man with a set of handcuffs locked to one wrist went in to police headquarters to ask for help removing them. Police were able to get them off.
