The Bristol Police Department responded to the following calls between Feb. 20 and Feb. 26:

Monday, Feb. 20

A caller reported a reckless driver speeding on Hope Street on the Warren town line just before 2 p.m. Officers investigated but could not find the car

Police responded to a lifeline emergency call at a home on Rosedale Drive around 8:30 p.m. for an unknown reason.

There turned out to be a problem with the Lifeline, triggering the call to police.

A window was damaged at a home on State Street. Police filed a report.

Tuesday, Feb. 21

A home was vandalized on Chestnut Street. Police filed a report around 9:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Feb. 22

Three people were reportedly spray painting graffiti on the East Bay Bike Path near Poppasquash Road just before 10 a.m. They were reportedly walking northbound on the bike path, according to a witness. Officers investigated, locating two juvenile suspects they transported to police headquarters. The juveniles were later released in the custody of their mothers. No charges were filed.

Police responded to an accident on Bay View Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Two patients were brought to Newport Hospital with unspecified injuries.

Thursday, Feb. 23

Police investigated suspicious activity on Creek Lane at 12:30 a.m. There turned out to be nothing suspicious, just an employee of Silver Creek.

Police investigated a National Grid phone scam at a salon on Hope Street at 3:30 p.m.

Police responded to a harassment complaint at Mt. Hope High School just after 5 p.m. Officers filed a report but no charges were filed.

A large group of people was dispersed from Lower Ferry Road just before midnight.

Friday, Feb. 24

Police investigated two suspicious men at State and High streets at 2 a.m. There turned out to be looking for lost property. They left for the night and returned in the morning to look.

Police advised a resident on Reid Street to remove a couch from the sidewalk, and another resident to remove a mattress from the sidewalk on St. Elizabeth Street.

Children were reportedly left unattended in a car at Stop & Shop on Metacom Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Officers filed a report.

A resident on Vernon Street reported flames coming from the house next door just after 8 p.m. The house was not on fire; the neighbor had a fire in the yard.

Police responded to reports of a possibly intoxicated man at High and State streets. Rescue crews brought the man to St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River.

A resident on Hope Street reported at 11:30 p.m. that his wife was bitten by his neighbor’s girlfriend’s dog, and she was being treated at St. Anne’s Hospital. The man said his wife would follow up with police after leaving the hospital.

Saturday, Feb. 25

Police responded to reports of a loud party at Dowams Drive and Monterey Road just after midnight. There was no noise upon officers’ arrival, and people were leaving the party.

Police received reports of a suspicious man behind Mt. Hope High School at 4:30 a.m. There turned out to be no problem; the man is a school employee.

A car was reportedly vandalized at the Colt State Park boat ramp.

Another couch was left on the sidewalk in violation of a town ordinance, this time on Wood Street. Police were unable to contact the owner.

A group of juveniles was reportedly throwing eggs at passing cars on Town Common on Wood Street at 6:30 p.m.

Sunday, Feb. 26

A man was reportedly urinating in front of a house on John Street at 1 a.m. There was no arrest made.

A dead deer was found at Metacom and Griswold avenues just after 8 a.m. The state Department of Environmental Management would not respond due to the level of decomposition of the deer. An animal control officer responded the next day to pick up the carcass and bring it to the town dump.

Another couch was on the sidewalk, this time at St. Elizabeth and Reid streets at 9:30 a.m. Officers could not locate the owner.

A car was reportedly vandalized on Franklin Street. Police filed a report.

A caller reported spotting a man wearing dark clothes behind the Walgreens Pharmacy on Metacom Avenue at 7:30 p.m. He was gone when officers arrived.
