Audrey Jane Lekom Jackson, Westport

Audrey Jane Lekom Jackson, wife of the late Daniel C. Jackson, died Monday, March 26, 2018. She was born December 28, 1937, to Joseph and Florence Tripp Lekom of Westport.  A graduate of Westport High School, 1954, she was a Navy wife who traveled the country with the changing duty stations. 

Audrey was a mother of six children, a beloved grandmother, and a friend to so many.  She was artistic, a basket weaver, a book lover, a bargain hunter, and had a wicked sense of humor.

She is survived by daughters Jodi Elliott of Oxford, North Carolina, Lisa Blackwell of Wilmington, Delaware, and Marcia Jackson of  Rochester, New Hampshire.  She is also survived by her brother Jonathan Lekom of Fall River, sisters Donna Kershaw of Groton, Connecticut, and Brenda Underhill of Laguna Niguel, California.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
