Calvin F. Tripp, 81, of Westport, passed away Friday, December 7, 2018, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Winifred M. (Hasson) Tripp; they shared 61 years of marriage.
Born in Westport, son of the late Isaac A. and Barbara (Manchester) Tripp, he was a lifelong resident of Westport.
Prior to retirement, he worked for Siemens Westinghouse as a craft labor supervisor, for which he traveled throughout the United States. He enjoyed attending antique car and truck shows. Mr. Tripp had the ways of a cowboy. He will always be regarded as a true family man who loved being with his children and grandchildren.
Including his wife, survivors include two sons, Calvin F. Tripp Jr. and his companion Marina of New Mexico, and Kenneth Tripp and his wife Tara of Amesbury, Mass.; a daughter, Lornalee Frederick and her husband Dale of Westport, and Martha Sullivan of Westport who was like a daughter; two brothers, Isaac A. Tripp Jr., of Westport, and Randall Tripp of Fall River; three sisters, Ruth Norton of Rochester, NY, Eunice Durfee of Tiverton, and June Hebert of Westport; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a ton of nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Timothy James Tripp and Steven James Tripp and brother of the late Grover, Harvey and Wendell Tripp and Barbara Carreiro.
His funeral, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be Monday, December 10, at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport at 11 a.m.
Calling hours are Sunday, 2-4 p.m. Interment will be private.
