George A. “Skip” Stike, 62, of Westport, passed away August 6, 2018, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River.
A resident of Westport since 1974, Skip, the only son of the late Oakley and Mary (Arruda) Stike was born in Newport and raised on Seapowet Avenue in Tiverton.
Mr. Stike was an Eagle Scout and helped at Camp Noquochoke. He worked throughout his life as a finish carpenter and master craftsman. He assisted the Preservation Society of Newport and the osprey and scallop preservation of Westport. He enjoyed old cars, carving, and taxidermy. He also was the co-owner of Eliza’s Restaurant in Bristol.
Survivors include his three sisters, Bethany Bland and her husband Thomas of San Antonio, Tex., Sarita Pimentel and her husband Michael of Tiverton, and Janet Lane of Tiverton; his nephews, Benjamin Bland and his wife Ryoko, Trevor and George Bland, Michael Paul Pimentel and his wife Megan; as well as his great nephews, William and Ocean Bland.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, August 19, from 4-8 p.m. with a Reflection at 7:30 p.m. at Boyko Memorial Funeral Home, 709 Broadway Fall River.
