Helen Mary Sylvia, 81, Tiverton

Helen Mary  (Domingos) Sylvia, 81, of Tiverton, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017.  She was the widow of Leon Sylvia.

Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Josephine (Pitera) and Joseph Domingos.

An elementary school teacher, she had taught in both Tiverton and Westport. 

She is survived by her children, Melissa Connors (husband Douglas),  Maureen Sylvia and Leon "LJ" Sylvia (wife Lynn).  She was the mother of the late Bruce Sylvia.  She also leaves her grandchildren, Angela Fisher, Christopher, Amy and Jake Sylvia along with Douglas Connors. She was the grandmother of the late Gregory Connors.  She also leaves a great grandchild, Abel Bernier, and a sister, Connie Aubin.

Visitation is Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m.  Her funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home, 462 Main Road, Tiverton, with a 10 a.m. Mass at St Theresa Church.  Burial at Pocasset Hill Cemetery.   www.almeida-pocasset.com
