To the editor:

I drove my pickup truck to Sakonnet Harbor to harvest seaweed for my organic vegetable gardens Sunday, but found my left arm almost useless from being wrenched earlier in the day.

At the the boat landing next to me were two men from the Dominican Republic also loading seaweed into lawn bags for their own organic farm near Providence.

Never before had I seen anyone harvesting seaweed there, so we struck up a talk in halting Spanish. One of the men quickly noticed my useless left arm, and came over to borrow my pitchfork and finish loading the rest of my truck for me.

Whether this was another one of those miracles that goes out dressed

up as good luck, I don't know, but I do know that the World is One, regardless of what anyone in Washington says.
