At 3 p.m., Diago Julian, 51, of 6 East Main Road, Little Compton, was charged with felony possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, and with sale of a Schedule IV drug (prescription pills). Mr. Julian was charged after police executed a search warrant at his East Main Road address, which led to the seizure of over five pounds of marijuana packaged for sale, numerous prescription drugs suspected for resale, and almost $8,000 in cash. The case is pending in Newport Superior Court. According to police, "for investigative purposes" the details of Mr. Julian's arrest "were withheld" until Monday, April 16, 2018.

Monday, April 9

At 5 p.m., James F. Walker, 69, of 3 Watson Way, Little Compton, was charged with one count of manufacturing/possession and distribution of marijuana. The charges came after police gathered information about a suspected marijuana growing operation taking place at Mr. Walker's address. The information led to the issuance of a search warrant for the address.

"The search resulted in the discovery," said police, "of a sophisticated marijuana growing operation inside the basement of the residence." Police seized 12 marijuana plants, over 5 1/2 pounds of marijuana packaged for sale, and over $4,000 in cash. The case is pending in Newport Superior Court.

At 12:21 a.m., Angelia Marchman, 60, of Walpole, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
