Phyllis M. Chrupcala, 89, Westport

Phyllis M. (Murphy) Chrupcala, in her 89th year, of Westport, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at St. Anne's Hospital. She was the wife of the late Stanley M. Chrupcala.

Phyllis was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Christopher P. and Frances L. (McVey) Murphy, and had been a longtime resident of Westport. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport and a member of the choir. She was the past president of Friends of St. Anne's Hospital and a recipient of the Marian Medal. She was a member of the Westport Women's Club and the Our Lady of Grace Women's Club.

Survivors include her son, Paul J. Chrupcala and his wife Elizabeth of Westport; her two daughters, Nancy A. Chase of Westport and Mary L. Marchese and her husband Michael of Sandwich; eight grandchildren, Laura, Rebecca, Sarah, Jill, Nikki, Frank, Jeffrey and Cara; seven great grandchildren, Nicholas, Jackson, Lily, Brody, George, Trot and Luca; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her beloved son, Barry M. Chrupcala; son-in-law, David T. Chase; brothers, Christopher P., Edward F., Henry and Francis K. Murphy; and sisters, Marion L. Giblin and Claire D. Murphy.

Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited, will be Friday, Dec. 1, at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport, at 11 a.m.

Visitation will be on Friday at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the Mass.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Westport Council on Aging, 75 Reed Rd., Westport, MA 02790, or to Our Lady of Grace Christmas Flower Fund, 569 Sanford Rd., Westport, MA 02790.
