Richard J. Pacheco, 70, Westport

Richard J. Pacheco, 70, of Westport, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Leslie J. Caulfield.

Mr. Pacheco was born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal, son of the late Manuel A. and Adelaide (Freitas) Pacheco, and had resided in Westport since 1991.

A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he did two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. He was a board certified forensic examiner and Certified Fire and Explosions Investigator at Northeastern Technical Services, Inc. in Fall River, a company which he founded.

Following retirement, Mr. Pacheco opened and operated Richie's Sporting Supply in Westport. He was an avid sportsman and hunter.

Survivors, along with his wife, include his daughter, Kathie A. Pacheco of Brooksville, Fla.; his two brothers, John Pacheco and Manuel Pacheco; and several nieces and nephews.

Private arrangements are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport, MA 02790.
