A 911 caller reported an accident with injuries on Gifford at 9 a.m.

A caller from Devol Avenue reported identity fraud at 6:26 p.m.

Westport police arrest three

Monday, Sept. 11

A 911 caller reported an accident with injuries on Gifford at 9 a.m.

A caller from Devol Avenue reported identity fraud at 6:26 p.m.

A caller from Ridgeline West Drive reported suspicious activity at 9:35 p.m.

Police pulled over two vehicles and issued one citation over the course of the day.

Tuesday, Sept. 12

A caller from Daisy Lane reported harassment at 12:12 a.m.

Police tried but were unable to serve a restraining order on State Road at 1:42 p.m.

Police transferred a call about a brush fire along Route 195 to the fire department at 2:48 p.m.

A Pratt Avenue resident reported identity fraud at 4:38 p.m.

A 911 caller reported an accident on American Legion Highway at 5:45 p.m.

Police pulled over nine vehicles and issued six citations over the course of the day.

Wednesday, Sept. 13

A Beechwood Road resident complained of larceny, forgery or fraud at 10:53 a.m.

A caller from American Legion Highway reported a suspicious person at 12:11 p.m.

A 911 caller from American Legion Highway reported a stolen vehicle at 4:20 p.m.

A 911 caller reported an accident with injuries on Forge Road at 4:39 p.m.

Police received two calls from South Berryman St., one at 5:30 p.m. and the second at 6:02 p.m., complaining of suspicious activity.

Police pulled over three vehicles and issued two citations over the course of the day.

Thursday, Sept. 14

A caller from Scotts Way lodged an animal complaint at 7:17 a.m.

A 911 caller from State Road reported a suspicious vehicle at 7:50 a.m.

Police tried but were unable to serve a warrant on American Legion Highway at 1:35 p.m. At 1:40 p.m., police reported arresting Eric Leslie Klimas, 60, of 1148 American Legion Highway, Apt. 15, on a warrant.

Police reported pulling over 34 vehicles and issuing 21 citations over the course of the day.

Friday, Sept. 15

Bethany Lyn Borden, 50, of 79 Rodney St., second floor, Apt. 2E, New Bedford, was charge with violating an abuse prevention order, making annoying telephone calls, and threatening to commit a crime.

A caller from Tickle Road reported a suspicious vehicle at 1:19 p.m.

A 911 caller from Pettey Lane lodged animal complaints at 1:26 p.m.

Police tried but were unable to serve a restraining order on State Road at 4:50 p.m.

A caller from Miss Rachel Trail reported the theft of a registration plate at 6:34 p.m.

Irvin Alexander Martinez, 18, of 564 Main St., Acushnet, was arrested on a warrant following a traffic stop on Sanford Road at 9:02 p.m.

A caller from Horseneck Road reported suspicious activity at 11:14 p.m.

Police pulled over 41 vehicles and issued 24 citations over the course of the day.

Saturday, Sept. 16

A 911 caller reported a suspicious person on Adamsville Road at 1:43 a.m.

A caller from Great Island View Road reported a suspicious vehicle at 7 p.m.

Police pulled over one vehicle over the course of the day, issuing no citations.

Sunday, Sept. 17

A 911 caller reported an accident with injuries on American Legion Highway at 1:12 p.m.

A caller from River Road reported suspicious activity at 6:24 p.m.

A 911 caller reported a disturbance on Main Street at 9:25 p.m. Another 911 call, this one for suspicious activity, came in from Route 88 at 10:46 p.m.

Police pulled over two vehicles and issued one citation over the course of the day.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once.
