Westport police logs: Two arrests this past week

Friday, July 28

A caller from Main Road reported shoplifting just before 12:30 p.m.

Larceny, forgery or fraud was reported by a Hix Bridge Road resident at 2:18 p.m.

Police served a restraining order on Sanford Road at 3:08 p.m.

A shoplifting call came in from State Road at 7:13 p.m.

Police pulled over 20 vehicles and issued 14 citations over the course of the day.

Saturday, July 29

Callers reported suspicious vehicles on State Road (2:35 a.m.), Blossom Road (2:41 a.m.) and American Legion Highway (2:57 a.m.).

A 911 caller reported an accident with injuries on American Legion Highway at 3:33 p.m.

Police pulled over five vehicles and issued two citations over the course of the day.

Sunday, July 30

A caller reported a disturbance on State Road at 1:37 a.m.

A Hix Bridge Road resident reported suspicious activity at 9:56 a.m.

A D Drive resident complained of larceny, forgery or fraud at 4:51 p.m.

Police did not report pulling over any vehicles over the course of the day.

Monday, July 31

Police investigated a report of a suspicious car called in from State Road at 12:39 a.m. A similar call came in from Hix Bridge Road at 11:21 p.m.

A Hix Bridge Road resident lodged animal complaints just after 6 a.m. A similar call came in from Main Road at  1:38 p.m.

A Hix Bridge Road resident complained of larceny, forgery or fraud at 1:24 p.m.

A 911 caller reported an accident with injuries on American Legion Highway at 2:57 p.m.

Police pulled over one vehicle and issued one citation over the course of the day.

Tuesday, August 1

A caller from routes 88 and 195 lodged animal complaints at 6:40 a.m.

A 911 caller reported an accident with injuries on Old County Road, at Fisher Road, at 9:36 a.m.

A Charlotte White Road resident reported identity fraud at 11:34 a.m.

A caller reported a suspicious vehicle on Rochelle Street at 7:06 p.m.

Police pulled over seven vehicles and issued five citations over the course of the day.

Wednesday, August 2

A 911 caller reported a motor vehicle violation on Route 88 at 9:45 a.m.

A 911 caller reported an accident on Main Road at 11:22 a.m.

A Jillian Way resident called police at 12:51 to report a neighbor dispute.

A Beeden Road resident filed a missing person report just before 1 p.m.

Police pulled over 10 vehicles over the course of the day, issuing four citations. In addition, parking enforcement officers cited two vehicles on Beach Avenue and Cherry and Webb Lane.

Thursday, August 3

A 911 caller reported a suspicious person from Sanford Road at 6:47 a.m.

A 911 caller from Nick’s Way reported breaking and entering just after 9 a.m.

A State Road caller lodged animal complaints just after 3 p.m. A similar call, made via 911, came in from Gifford Road at 6:27 p.m.

Police pulled over four vehicles and issued four citations over the course of the day.

Friday, August 4

Seth P. McCarthy, 33, of 70 D Drive, #70, was charged with the unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after police pulled him over on J Drive at 9:25 a.m.

A caller complained of an illegally parked vehicle on Atlantic Avenue at 10:13 a.m.

A State Road caller reported larceny, forgery or fraud at 4:31 p.m.

A Cherry and Webb Lane caller lodged animal complaints at 7:20 p.m.

A 911 caller reported a motor vehicle violation on Briggs Road at 8:33 p.m.

Police pulled over seven vehicles and issued seven citations over the course of the day.

Saturday, August 5

A 911 caller from Angel Court lodged animal complaints at 2:24 a.m.

A caller from Hope Street reported an assault at 3:37 a.m.

A 911 caller reported an accident with injuries on Route 195 at 9:25 p.m.

A 911 caller reported a disturbance on J Drive at 11:41 p.m.

Police pulled over eight vehicles and issued four citations over the course of the day.

Sunday, August 6

A caller from American Legion Highway reported a suspicious vehicle on State Road at 1:53 a.m.

Christopher John Medeiros, 45, of 922 State Road, was arrested on an unspecified warrant after police investigated a suspicious person on State Road at 1:53 a.m.

A Village Way resident lodged animal complaints at 9:12 a.m. A similar call came in from Route 88 at 10:22 a.m.

A Tobin Street caller reported a neighbor dispute at 3:44 p.m.

A caller reported an accident on State Road at 6:08 p.m. Another, with injuries, was called in from American Legion Highway at 9:13 p.m.

Police pulled over two vehicles over the course of the day, but reported no citations issued.
