Barrington boys win Class B Track Championship

Eagles outscore second-place Smithfield by 90 points

The Barrington High School boys indoor track team crushed the competition at the Class B Championship meet on Saturday, Feb. 4.

The Eagles scored 161 points, well ahead of second place Smithfield (71 points) and third place Portsmouth (63 points). 

Ethan Knight led the way for Barrington. The junior won the 55-meter hurdles and the 300-meter race. Knight currently holds the school record in the 55-meter hurdles. 

Barrington High School senior Eli Terrell won the long jump event with a personal best distance of 20 feet, 8.25 inches. 

Charlie Stockwell, Michael Chun, Sam Bishop and Daniel Chun teamed up to win the 4x800-meter relay event, and Nate Greenberg, Gabe Tanous, Knight and Iain DeBoth won the 4x200-meter race.

• 55-meter hurdles: 2. Bobby Wind, 4. Terrell

• 600-meter race: 7. Stockwell

• Shot put: 4. Michael Fay

• 55-meter dash: 2. DeBoth, 4. Greenberg, 6. Tanous

• 300-meter race: 2. DeBoth, 4. Terrell

• Weight throw: 3. Fay, 5. Sam Spector

• 3,000-meter race: 2. Myles Napolitano, 4. Finn Myatt, 8. Henry Schultz

• 1,500-meter race: 3. Brandon Piedade, 5. Sam Bishop, 7. Christopher Clone

• 1,000-meter race: 4. M. Chun, 5. D. Chun, 7. Marius Bonard

• High jump: 5. Terrell, 8. Hayden Knight

• 4x400-meter relay: 2. Barrington (E. Knight, Tanous, H. Knight, DeBoth)
