Police determine assault occurred in Providence and East Providence

Posted

Barrington Police investigated a sexual assault that allegedly occurred on a RIPTA bus on Tuesday, July 6.

A Providence woman stopped into the police station at about 5 p.m. to report the incident — she said she was riding a RIPTA bus from Providence to Warren when a man assaulted her, touching her inappropriately.

Police said they were able to determine that the alleged incident occurred in Providence and East Providence, but not in Barrington.

Police turned over all their investigative work to law enforcement in those communities.
