Bristol Police: Arrests for domestic offenses, plus more sick animals

Monday, April 26

A woman called police after being bit by another dog while walking her own dog along Wapping Drive at 6:32 p.m. She went to a hospital for treatment of the bite.

Someone complained of fireworks at Independence Park at 8:49 p.m.

Tuesday, April 27

Officers responded to 102 Kickemuit Ave. after police received a 911 call at 6:57 a.m. A man could be heard screaming on the phone, before the call was disconnected. Christopher E. Francis, 23, of that address, and Casey M. Francis, 23, also of that address, were both taken into custody, charged with simple domestic assault and transported to District Court in Providence for arraignment.

Someone called to report a sick raccoon on Tina Court at 10:22 a.m. The animal was in a tree at the time. Police responded back later that afternoon to euthanize the animal.

A Sousa Street resident reported a past larceny.

Wednesday, April 28

A caller from Hope Street reported a woman was in his backyard and possibly intoxicated at 1:31 a.m. Rescue was called to the scene, and the woman was taken to Newport Hospital.

Police were called about a raccoon in the courtyard area and on the roof of Mt. Hope High School at 11:10 a.m. They called pest control to deal with it.

After responding to the station at 8:57 p.m. to be served on a warrant, Anthony D. Springett, 23, of 593 Main St., third floor, Warren, was charged with disorderly conduct. He was arraigned by a justice of the peace and released.

A Viking Drive resident agreed to bring their dog in for the night after a complaint about its barking at 9:06 p.m.

Someone called to report a woman screaming on St. Elizabeth Street at 9:39 a.m. Officers responded but found nothing amiss when they arrived.

Thursday, April 29

Officers called rescue to the Mt. Hope Bridge to evaluate someone at 1 a.m.

At 6:15 a.m., Aaron M. Carey, 33, of 59 St. Elizabeth St., Bristol, was taken into custody on a warrant, brought to the station and charged with receiving stolen goods. He was held and then taken to District Court in Providence for arraignment.

A raccoon was euthanized at Mt. Hope High School at 7:17 a.m.

A caller reported two people riding dirt bikes on Verdi Lane at 2:11 p.m. An officer responded and spoke to the responsible parties.

Police were called to Wood Street because someone reported two people being loud at 8:13 p.m. After investigating, they found one of the people had an active arrest warrant out of Pawtucket. Alicia Werthessen, 47, of 322 Wood St., Apt. 2, Bristol, was brought to the station and held until a Pawtucket officer arrived and took her into custody.

An officer spoke to the offending person after a complaint of loud music from a car along Metacom Avenue at 9:06 p.m. The person was listening to music while cleaning the car.

Friday, April 30

A sick raccoon was euthanized in the area of Narrow Road and Ursula Drive at 5:44 a.m.

A patrolman spoke to the owner of an oversized boat that was being transported in the area of Hope Street and Fales Road at 10:13 a.m.

Someone complained of a loose dog at St. Mary’s Cemetery at 1:25 p.m.

Someone reported a man dressed all in black with a black face covering who was looking into houses along Mulberry Road at 6:38 p.m. He was last seen running along the bike path towards Warren. Officer checked the area and surrounding streets but did not find him.

Someone reported juveniles throwing things at the Town Common at 9:50 p.m. Officers responded by did not find any.

Saturday, May 1

Someone complained of noise from Thames Waterside Grill at 12:02 a.m.

An officer dispersed people from Independence Park at 1:20 a.m.

An officer dispersed people from Wood Street at 1:59 a.m.

A resident on Church Cove Road called police after seeing what they thought was a coyote sleeping on a porch at 6:53 a.m.. The animal control officer responded and determined it was sick raccoon. The animal was euthanized.

Someone notified police that people were riding dirt bikes at Sowams Park on Sweeney Lane at 1:01 p.m.

DEM was called to deal with a sick raccoon on Hopeworth Avenue at 6:42 p.m.

A Court Street resident complained of noise from a three-family home at 11:02 p.m.

A caller reported fireworks in the area of Hope and Chestnut streets at 11:18 p.m.

Officers investigated a complaint of people yelling in the road along Sunnyside Avenue at 11:23 p.m.

Sunday, May 2

An officer spoke to someone in a Wood Street apartment after a complaint about loud music at 2:09 a.m.

Police called rescue to Metacom Avenue after a man was found lying on the ground behind at car at 5:20 p.m.

An officer spoke to someone about loud music on Rosedale Drive at 7:48 p.m.

Officers spoke to a couple who were yelling at each other outside near the intersection of Wood and Richmond streets at 11:09 p.m.

Monday, May 3

Two people were taken into custody on State Street at 1:56 a.m. Eric M. Warner, 49, of 66 Joyce St., Warren, was charged with violation of a protective order and possession of marijuana. Heidi M. Massey, 39, of 9 West St., Apt. 1S, Bristol, was also charged with violation of a protective order.
