Residents report seeing male riding bright green bike

Barrington residents from various neighborhoods reported attempted car break-ins last week.

On Wednesday, March 10, Barrington police received a phone call from an Anthony Road resident who said she heard footsteps outside her home and noticed a person dressed all in black trying to break into her vehicle. The resident yelled at the individual — he appeared to be about 5-foot-8 and was also wearing a mask. The man ran off toward Washington Road. Police searched the area but could not locate the suspect.

Later that day, a Prospect Street resident called police to report that she had video footage of someone trying to break into her car during the overnight hours. The video showed a male juvenile wearing all black clothing and riding a bright green mountain bike. The incident occurred at 2 a.m.

Barrington residents in the neighborhoods across from Primrose Hill School also reported similar incidents — one resident’s doorbell camera captured footage of a male ride a bike up into a driveway before noticing the camera and then riding away. Another resident said someone rummaged through vehicles in the neighborhood and also stole his son’s bicycle, leaving a different bike behind.
