Barrington Pop Warner alum helps Northeastern University win NCA All-Girl D1 title

Posted

Barrington native and former Barrington Pop Warner cheerleader Kaleigh Moran recently helped the Northeastern University cheer team win the NCA All-Girl D1 National Championship in Daytona, Fla. It was the Huskies’ first title since 2002.

Kaleigh and her cheer teammates, competing in the largest division in all of NCA, finished in first place and hit two zero deduction routines.

Kaleigh is a sophomore on the Northeastern University team. She began cheerleading in second grade for Barrington Pop Warner and continued through eighth grade. Her Pop Warner cheer team competed at Nationals in Orlando, Fla. and finished second in varsity division in 2018.

Kaleigh continue cheering at Barrington High School — she helped the Eagles win the state championship in 2021. She received the Rhode Island Cheerleading Coaches Association’s scholarship award along with the “Liv For You” Memorial Scholarship award, both in 2023 as a senior at BHS. Both are awarded based on academic success, community service, and a dedication to the sport of cheer.
