Caleb Satisfield was electric in the fourth quarter as he made four three-pointers and scored 16 of his career-high 30 points over the last eight minutes to will Barrington to a 64-50 win over North Providence in the championship game of the inaugural BCRI In Season tournament and regular season finale for both teams.
It was the Eagles’ second dominant fourth period in three days (Barrington outscored Lincoln 26-14 on Wednesday), as they outscored the Cougars 22-10 in the final frame.
Barrington held a slim 42-40 lead when Satisfield knocked down a three-pointer to begin the run. Moments later Ryan Rigamonti, out of a double team, passed the ball back to Alex Anderson who knocked down his second three-pointer of the night. Satisfield then scored the home team’s next 13 points, including a long-range three-pointer at the end of a shot clock.
Colin McDermott scored 17 points for the Eagles. Anderson and Rigamonthi each added eight. Ryan Realejo played a steady floor game, handled the Cougars pressure, and did an exceptional job on defense by limiting North Providence's point guard.
Barrington has won nine of its last 10 games and improved to 17-5 overall, while North Providence ended its regular season at 20-2.
The Eagles have earned the fourth seed in the Division I playoffs and were scheduled to host the 13th-seeded Westerly Bulldogs on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
