Trailing 0-1 at halftime, the Barrington High School boys soccer team scored two second half goals and held off Cumberland for a 2-1 victory last Wednesday night at Victory Field.
The win pushed Barrington’s record to 6-0-0.
The Clippers opened the scoring in the first half, and maintained their lead until halftime. With 36 minutes remaining in the second half, sophomore Iain DeBoth scored a goal for the Eagles. The score remained tied 1-1 until nearly the end of the match when Barrington’s senior captain Andrew Blazewicz scored the game-winner.
Eagles’ goalie JT Celico played well in net, making a series of critical saves throughout the game.
The Eagles will play at LaSalle on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 6:30 p.m. in a matchup of the only two unbeaten teams in Division 1. Barrington’s next home game is Saturday against East Providence at 3 p.m.
